VISIRAD is a detection system that allows a simultaneous measurement of the dose rate and the position in the work environment. The integration of position and dose rate information enables a faster and more detailed characterization of the work environment.
The VISIRAD system is under development in a collaboration between SCK·CEN and KRYPTON N.V.. The localization probe K30 is developed by KRYPTON N.V. and integrated by SCK·CEN with the dose probe and the analysis software.
The VISIRAD system provides a set of dose measurements linked to the 3D co-ordinates of the measuring positions and will be the ideal tool to provide the "Measured Dose Rate-Set" or MDR-set for the source inference calculations using VISIPLAN.
